Work Description
The title is inspired by the star system Proxima Centauri, located in the constellation Centaurus and known as the closest stellar system to our solar system.
I am not particularly knowledgeable about constellations, but it may be in our very nature as living beings—perhaps as humans—to be irresistibly drawn to the mysteries of the universe.
It is said that one of the planets orbiting Proxima Centauri may have an environment similar to Earth, raising the possibility that it could become a future destination for human settlement. Imagining such a distant future, I composed this piece with complete freedom.
The structure resembles a modified sonata form, though it is essentially free-form. Several themes merge and evolve into new musical ideas, creating subtle and fascinating musical chemistry.
Because I composed it without considering technical limitations, the difficulty is very high, and some passages may be unplayable depending on hand size. However, the melodies are designed to be catchy, making the music itself accessible and engaging.
